Overview

Landela is an early-stage technology company building both its corporate brand and digital products. We are looking for a Social Media & Content Specialist to own day-to-day content across Landela and JetVero, our travel-focused product brand.

This is a hands-on individual-contributor role. You will plan content, create it, edit it, publish it, engage with audiences, and use performance data to improve what we do. You should be comfortable producing the work yourself rather than depending on a separate creative or social media team.

Why this role matters

Landela and JetVero are still building their audiences. At this stage, consistent and useful content can materially improve how people discover us, understand what we are building, and decide whether to engage further.

Landela and JetVero serve different audiences, so the role requires more than posting the same material everywhere. You will help establish the right voice, formats, publishing rhythm, and creative approach for each brand and learn quickly from what actually performs.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and maintain practical content calendars for Landela and JetVero across LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok, and other channels that are relevant to each audience.
  • Create content end-to-end, including short-form video, carousels, static posts, captions, simple graphics, product updates, educational content, and travel storytelling.
  • Film or source suitable material and edit mobile-first video with strong openings, pacing, captions, transitions, and formatting appropriate for each platform.
  • Adapt strong ideas across different channels without simply publishing identical content everywhere.
  • Publish consistently, manage comments and community interactions, and identify useful trends, conversations, partnerships, or opportunities for engagement.
  • Track performance using metrics such as reach, engagement, audience growth, clicks, enquiries, leads, and conversions, and use those results to decide what to repeat, improve, or stop.
  • Work with the wider team to turn product updates, company activity, customer stories, travel ideas, and internal knowledge into useful external content.
  • Support small paid campaigns where they make sense, including creative testing, audience selection, basic retargeting, and careful use of limited budgets.

Requirements

Experience & qualifications

  • At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in social media, content creation, digital marketing, brand content, or a closely related role.
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media, Public Relations, Business, or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated experience personally creating and publishing social content, including short-form video, written content, and visual posts, with examples of work you can share.
  • Experience managing social media accounts or campaigns with responsibility for measurable outcomes such as audience growth, reach, engagement, traffic, enquiries, or conversions.
  • Strong writing, visual judgement, organisation, and video-editing ability, with confidence using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Canva, or similar.
  • Able to plan and execute content independently, manage multiple channels and deadlines, and improve work based on performance rather than relying only on subjective feedback.

Nice to have

  • Experience creating travel, lifestyle, technology, product, or B2B content.
  • Experience growing a company or professional audience on LinkedIn.
  • Experience running small-budget Meta or Google campaigns and understanding basic conversion funnels.

What success looks like

  • Landela and JetVero publish useful, consistent content with clear and recognisable voices.
  • Content production becomes predictable rather than depending on last-minute ideas or irregular posting.
  • Audience reach, engagement, followers, traffic, and relevant enquiries improve over time.
  • The team develops a clearer understanding of which topics, formats, channels, and messages work for each brand.
  • Strong-performing content is repeated and improved, while weak approaches are changed or dropped.
  • Content contributes to meaningful outcomes such as brand awareness, product interest, enquiries, leads, partnerships, or customer engagement.
  • The wider team has clear visibility into what is being published, what is working, and what should be tested next.

What this role is

  • A hands-on content creation and social media role
  • Responsible for both producing content and improving its performance
  • Focused on building two early-stage brands with different audiences
  • Measured by consistent execution, audience quality, and business impact

How this role works

  • You will create and publish the work yourself rather than only produce content plans.
  • Landela and JetVero will require different content approaches rather than a single strategy copied across both brands.
  • You will have room to test ideas and formats, but performance should influence what we continue investing in.
  • You will work with company leadership and the wider team to source product updates, stories, expertise, and campaign ideas.

Working style

Landela operates with a small team and minimal layers. We expect consistent execution, clear communication, good judgement, and ownership of agreed work.

This is a remote role anchored in Nairobi. Most work can be done remotely, but occasional in-person availability may be required for team sessions, events, filming, customer or partner activities, and other situations where content needs to be created on location.

How to apply

Use the application form below and share links to social accounts, campaigns, or content you have personally worked on, including at least 2–3 examples of your own content. Briefly explain what you were responsible for and one example where your work produced a measurable result.
